In this big update to PCRM, the screens you use most — records, lists, and adding new people — have been rebuilt. Records now open beside your search results instead of taking you away from them, and you can arrange a record’s Overview however suits the way you work.
Side-By-Side List Views #
Click any row on a Names, Companies, Positions or Rollups search page, in either list or table view to see this change.
- Your results stay on screen.
The record opens in a panel on the right-hand side and your list stays where it was, so you keep your place and your scroll position. The row you are looking at is highlighted in the list behind the panel. - Step through the list without closing anything.
Up and down arrows at the top of the panel move you to the previous or next record, and tell you where you are — “Record 12 of 240”. Work down a shortlist without returning to the results page between each one. - Four controls in the top-right corner of the panel.
- Dock panel beside content – scales the results and content in a split screen
- Float panel over content – keeps results ‘under’ the record to allow wider record view
- Open in New Tab to put the record in its own browser tab
- Show Full View to expand it to the whole screen
- Set the width by dragging.
Grab the left edge of the panel and drag. PCRecruiter remembers the width and uses it for every record you open afterwards, whatever the record type — and it remembers whether you prefer docked or floating too. - Everything about the record is a tab.
The tabs along the top of the panel are the record’s features — Overview first, then Pipeline, activities, attachments and the rest for that record type. - Small screens are handled for you.
On a tablet, or a browser window under roughly 1,000 pixels wide, the panel opens full width instead of splitting the screen, so nothing is squeezed into an unreadable column.
Record Overview & Cards #
The Overview tab now shows on every record. To rearrange it, click the sliders icon at the right-hand end of that row of tabs — it is labelled Customize layout, and it only appears while you are on the Overview tab.
- The Overview is now built from cards.
What cards you get depends on the record.- Candidates and contacts: Snapshot, Summary, Work History, Details, Notes, Activities, Positions, Employer, Keywords, Matched Positions, Placements, Feedback, Presentations and Attachments.
- Companies: Snapshot, Summary, Details, Contacts, Positions, Deals, Activities, Notes, Placements and Attachments.
- Positions: Snapshot, Details, Job Description, Hiring Company, Hiring Contact, Pipeline, Activities, Notes and Attachments.
- Rollups: Stats, Candidates, Companies, Positions and Sequence.
- Hide what you never use, move what you always use.
In the Customize layout panel, turn any card off, drag it up or down the order, or set it to stretch the full width of the panel instead of sitting in a column. Full-width cards group together at the top. - Nothing to save.
Every change appears in the Overview as you make it — there is no Apply or Save step and no reload. - Your layout follows you between computers.
It is stored on your PCRecruiter account rather than in one browser, so you get the same arrangement wherever you sign in. Each record type keeps its own layout. - Administrators can pass a layout on.
If you have administrator rights, the same panel offers Copy layout to users — set an Overview up the way your team should see it, then copy it to another user by username. - Undo and reset are always there.
Step back through your changes, or reset the whole thing to the standard arrangement for that record type.
Faster ‘Add’ Records #
The + button in the bar across the top of the screen. It opens a short menu — Add Name, Add Company, Add Position, Add Rollup, Bulk Import — showing only the types you have permission to create. The Add button on each search page opens the same screens.

The single Add Record window that handled everything is gone. Names, companies, positions and Rollups each get their own, laid out for the way that record is actually created. - Add a whole stack of résumés in one go.
In Add Name, drop in up to 50 files at once. PCRecruiter reads them one after another and builds a card for each person, with the next cards visible behind the one you are on. Move between them with the arrows, read the résumé itself in a panel beside the fields, and drag the window larger if you need more room. Save All creates every record together. - Duplicates are flagged on the card, before you save.
If someone similar is already in your database, the card says so. Hover the match to compare the two people field by field, side by side, and page through other close matches when there is more than one — so you can go and update the right person instead of creating a second copy of them. - Paste a person or a Company in.
The Parse from Clipboard button on the Add Name and Add Company screens takes whatever you have copied — an email signature, a directory entry, a Company Profile — and fills in the fields it recognizes. - Finish a position in one pass.
Add Position opens the job description in a formatted editor in a side panel, so you can write and style it there and then. Link the position to an existing Company or create that Company without leaving the screen, let the location fill in from the Company you chose, and start the position on your default Pipeline template. - Companies and Rollups are single, simple forms.
Add Company takes a logo — upload and crop it right in the form. Add Rollup offers your global stage templates and lets you attach candidates, companies and positions to the Rollup as you build it. - You land on the finished record.
Whatever you create opens straight away in the record panel and is added to Recently viewed, so your next step is one click away. - Bulk Import has its own place on the menu.
Importing a spreadsheet used to be a mode hidden inside Add Record. It is now its own entry and its own screen, with progress shown in the window title as it runs. - EEO questions are grouped.
On Add Name, EEO information sits together in one clearly marked group rather than being mixed through the form.
Cleaner Screens #
- List view is built for each record type.
On the Names, Companies, Positions and Activities search pages, the cards in list view show what actually matters for that kind of record — and they tighten up as space runs out rather than breaking, which is what makes them readable next to an open record panel. - Long result sets scroll better.
Table view was rebuilt underneath, so working through thousands of results stays responsive. - The menu down the left is tidier.
Two rounds of cleanup, with a clearer indication of the page you are currently on. - Personal settings each have their own screen.
Click your name at the side of the screen and you get Change Password, User Preferences, View Background Tasks and — where your database has two-factor authentication switched on — Two Factor Authentication. Each now opens on its own instead of the three settings sharing one crowded panel. Update Notices and the Learning Center are on the same menu.
Other Fixes #
- Recently Viewed and Recently Modified work on the dashboard, and now match the look of the record lists elsewhere in PCRecruiter.
- Drop-down menus no longer hide behind windows. A window opened from the top bar — Add Name, for example — could draw its own drop-downs and pop-ups underneath itself, and could open with pieces of its styling missing. Both are fixed.
- User photos more reliably saved. User photos were being altered as they were saved, which could cause them to be broken or discolored. They now save and reload exactly as uploaded.
- The inoperable log-out icon is removed. The logout icon by the user’s name could only ever open the user menu rather than log you out. Logout is still on the menu itself.
- A cleaner built-in PDF viewer for résumés, attachments and candidate presentations.
